A city man found with a handgun was arrested last night by police officers responding to a report of shots being fired on Jefferson Avenue.
Police responded to a report of shots fired in front of a home on the 900 block of Jefferson Avenue at approximately 9:55 p.m.
While enroute to the scene, officers encountered a male fitting the description (a black male, wearing all black, carrying a black bag) of suspect on North Avenue, a block from the shooting scene.
Officers stopped 32-year-old Kasib Ford, who was found with a .45 cal. handgun. He was subsequently taken into custody.
Ford was charged with the obstructing the administration of the law, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, possession of drug paraphernalia,
receiving stolen property, certain persons not to possess a firearm.
He is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
