Authorities have positively identified a man found burned to death in Newark's East Ward earlier in the week.
A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's office identified the victim as 57-year-old Tyrone A. Black of Newark.
According to authorities, Black was found outside in the 200 block of Astor Street, an industrial section of Newark at approximately 7:37 am engulfed in flames.
The cause and manner of death will be determined by an autopsy but the incident is being investigated as a homicide at this time authorities said.
