A violent early morning crash in Jersey City left one person dead.
The crash that happened on Rt. 1&9 and the Hackensack Bridge sent police and rescue crews to the scene shortly before 3 a.m.
First responders arrived to the scene to find a car crashed to into a pole with at least one occupant inside. Crews began the process of extricating the male victim from the vehicle.
After crews extricated the victim, he (reported to be around the age of 25-years-old) was rushed to Jersey City Medical Center suffering life threatening injuries.
The unidentified man was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
