Police placed a woman in custody last night after she attempted to flee the scene of a crash that left several people injured on a bus in Newark.
First responders rushed to the area of South Orange Ave. and South 6th Street at around 10:45 p.m. after receiving several reports of a crash that involved a bus.
Emergency crews arriving to the scene began transporting about 15 people to University Hospital where they all suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The female driver of a green Subaru Legacy reportedly bailed from the vehicle in an attempt to escape when police tracked her down and arrested her a short distance from the crash scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
