Parents of 3-Month-Old Found Dead in Newark Bed, Arrested

According to Essex County Prosecutor's Office, parent's of a 3-month-old baby found dead while laying in bed with parents on August 12, 2015 have been arrested.

Newark residents, Micael Jordan, 30, and Hakeem Lemons, 29, were arrested and charged with reckless manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with the death of Jallon Lemons.

Hakeem Lemons was charged on Aug. 14, 2015 and Micael Jordan on Friday. 

Both  are being held on $200,000 bail at the Essex County Correctional Facility, Newark, Carter said.

The death remains under investigation.

According to Federal and state law, when a child dies or is seriously hurt by a parent or caretaker, it is mandatory that the child welfare agency must disclose if whether the agency has ever investigated the family.

Sources revealed that two other children had died in the family but no criminal charges were filed.
