Two Bronx men have been arrested in connection with a violent home invasion in Bergen County during which four adults were held at gunpoint, one victim was attacked with a hammer, and suspects allegedly threatened to kill a child unless money was surrendered.

According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, Alexander Delacruz, 42, and Jerry Perez, 34, were identified following an extensive investigation into the January 12, 2024, incident at a residence on East Tryon Avenue in Teaneck.

Authorities said three masked, armed men entered the home and restrained two adults with zip ties. Over the next several hours, two additional adults arrived and were also held captive at gunpoint.

During the ordeal, investigators said one victim was assaulted with a hammer, while the suspects threatened to torture and kill one of the victims’ two children if money was not handed over.

The suspects allegedly tore through the residence, damaging walls, ripping apart furniture, removing cabinets and vents, and searching for cash they believed was hidden inside.

After the intruders fled, one victim managed to break free and contact police.

Three other suspects, Brian Arias, Frank A. Salcedo and Francisco Sandoval, were arrested in July 2024 following a joint investigation involving Bergen County detectives, Teaneck police, the FBI and the NYPD.

Investigators continued pursuing additional leads, eventually identifying Delacruz and Perez as suspects.

Both men were charged in September 2026 with multiple offenses, including kidnapping, armed robbery, conspiracy, weapons violations, armed burglary and aggravated assault.

Delacruz was arrested in the Bronx on October 13 and extradited to New Jersey on October 27. He remains detained at the Bergen County Jail pending further court proceedings

Perez was apprehended in the Bronx on November 4 and was being held at the Eric M. Taylor Center on Rikers Island pending extradition to Bergen County.
