We are waking up to calm conditions across Newark and the North Jersey region this Thursday morning, but some much-needed rain is on the way as we head through the day.

Good morning, New Jersey!
It is currently 65 degrees in downtown Newark, and after an 18-day stretch of dry weather, we are finally expecting some rainfall across the region.
The rain will be a welcome sight as parts of North Jersey have gone more than two weeks without measurable precipitation.
We can expect mostly cloudy skies throughout the day, with temperatures climbing into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Some showers could begin arriving later this morning, with more widespread rainfall expected tonight.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 40 percent chance of rain after 10 a.m., with patchy fog possible during the morning hours. Today’s high will be near 73 degrees, with south winds of 5 to 10 mph and gusts reaching 22 mph.
Tonight, rain becomes more likely, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. Showers could be accompanied by a few thunderstorms toward early Friday morning. Temperatures will remain mild, with a low near 62 degrees.
Rainfall totals could range from a quarter to half an inch.
So, grab that umbrella before heading out this morning. After nearly three weeks of dry conditions, we could certainly use the rain.
Make it a great Thursday, New Jersey!
