A South Jersey physician specializing in women’s reproductive health has been charged with sexually assaulting three patients during medical appointments at his Mount Laurel office, authorities announced.

According to Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw, Jerome Check, 80, of Melrose Park, Pennsylvania, faces three counts of second-degree sexual assault following an investigation into incidents allegedly occurring between December 2024 and March 2025.
Investigators said Check, a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist, allegedly assaulted the women while alone with them inside an examination room.
Authorities reported that two of the patients had scheduled appointments they believed would involve consultations rather than invasive examinations. Prosecutors allege Check subsequently informed them that examinations were necessary.
Check was arrested in September and later released following a court appearance in Mount Holly. His case is expected to be presented to a grand jury for possible indictment.
Cooper Norcross Health has since announced that all of Check’s affiliations with the organization have been suspended.
The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office is seeking additional potential victims or anyone who may have information regarding the allegations.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit at 609-265-5035.
Check’s attorney has disputed the allegations. The charges remain accusations, and Check is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
