A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to robbing a Camden County bank at gunpoint after demanding $50,000 from employees and fleeing with a significantly smaller amount of cash.

According to information released by U.S. Attorney Robert Frazer, Phu Nguyen, 36, of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, admitted to the armed robbery before U.S. District Court Chief Judge Renée Marie Bumb in Camden federal court.

Federal authorities said Nguyen entered the Bank of Princeton in Voorhees on June 27, 2025, wearing black clothing and a face covering.

Investigators said he approached a teller and handed over a note demanding $50,000 while claiming to have a firearm.

The teller turned over $1,760, but Nguyen then approached another bank employee and demanded access to an additional cash drawer.

During the encounter, prosecutors said Nguyen lifted his shirt, revealing a black handgun tucked into his waistband, before fleeing the bank.

Nguyen now faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, and up to five years of supervised release.

His sentencing is scheduled for March 10, 2027.
