Chilly, Windy Start to Tuesday Across North Jersey, Sunshine on the Way

Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Good Tuesday morning, Jersey! We’re waking up to another fall-feeling morning across Newark and the North Jersey region, and yes, that wind is making it feel even colder than the thermometer says!

We hope you’re waking up feeling well this morning. Currently, it’s 46 degrees in downtown Newark, but the wind is making it feel more like 41 degrees. So, if you’re heading out early to the bus stop or making your way to work, you’ll definitely want a warm jacket or even a coat.

Looking around the Garden State, West Orange is checking in at 49 degrees, Linden at 48, Hoboken at 52, and Kearny at 45. Paterson is waking up to 44 degrees, while Sussex County is feeling the chill at just 38 degrees.

And that wind isn’t going anywhere just yet!

We’re expecting a breezy Tuesday, with some stronger gusts making it feel cooler throughout the day. The good news is that we’ll have plenty of sunshine to help warm things up nicely by the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be sunny with a high near 68 degrees. North winds will blow around 11 mph, with gusts reaching up to 24 mph.

Tonight, skies will remain mostly clear, with temperatures dropping to around 48 degrees. North winds will continue near 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

So, Jersey, keep that jacket handy, especially during the morning and evening hours.

We’re in for a beautiful fall day with lots of sunshine, but the breeze will certainly remind us what season we’re in!
