Cloudy Start Gives Way to Sunshine, Highs Near 75 in Newark

New Jersey

By: Richard L. Smith

Good morning, New Jersey! We hope you had a great overnight rest as we get this Tuesday morning started with cloudy skies, but plenty of sunshine is on the way to warm things up nicely.

At 4:30 a.m., we’re waking up to 61 degrees in downtown Newark, where skies are cloudy and temperatures are relatively comfortable for an October morning.

Around the Garden State, it’s a little cooler in several communities. Morristown and Somerville are reporting 50 degrees, Sussex is at 51, Trenton is checking in at 50, and parts of Monmouth County are starting the morning near 49 degrees.

The good news is that most of New Jersey will remain dry today, making it a great opportunity to enjoy some outdoor activities as sunshine gradually takes over.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny, with a high near 75 degrees. Calm winds will become southerly at 5 to 9 mph during the afternoon.

Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping to around 66 degrees and southwest winds near 8 mph.

Enjoy your Tuesday, New Jersey! We’re looking at another beautiful fall day across the Garden State.
