Firefighters battled a two-alarm fire Monday evening at a residential property in Clark, Union County.

According to preliminary emergency reports, firefighters responded to 66 Emerald Place on October 12, where flames were reported on the second floor and in the attic of a two-and-a-half-story home.
The fire prompted commanders to request a second alarm at approximately 8:21 p.m., bringing additional firefighters and equipment to the scene.
Initial reports indicated that crews encountered challenges establishing a water supply as they worked to contain the flames.
By approximately 8:45 p.m., firefighters had knocked down the bulk of the fire and began opening walls and other areas to check for hidden flames.
Four minutes later, crews reported that the fire was largely under control and that searches of the basement, first floor and second floor had found no occupants.
The property was reportedly under construction at the time of the incident.
There were no immediate reports of injuries. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage have not been officially confirmed.
