Authorities are investigating a deadly train incident that claimed a man’s life Saturday afternoon in Camden County.

According to preliminary reports, emergency crews responded to the area of Atco Avenue in Waterford Township around 3:25 p.m. on October 10, after a pedestrian was struck by an NJ Transit train.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
NJ Transit officials said the Atlantic City Rail Line train had departed Philadelphia at 2:31 p.m. and was traveling toward Atlantic City when the incident occurred.
Approximately 80 passengers were aboard the train, but no injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.
Rail service was suspended in both directions between Hammonton and Lindenwold, with substitute buses provided for affected passengers.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
