North Jersey Wakes Up to a Chilly Friday, But Sunshine Will Bring a Beautiful Afternoon

Newark

Good Friday morning, New Jersey! We hope you had a good night’s sleep because we’re waking up to a chilly start in several parts of the Garden State, but we’re heading into what should be a beautiful Friday!

If you’re up early with us, heading to work or waiting at the bus stop, you might need that jacket. Here in downtown Newark, we’re sitting at 59 degrees, and we’re expecting wall-to-wall sunshine that will warm things up nicely as the day moves along.

Around New Jersey, some areas are feeling a lot colder. Morristown is waking up at 39 degrees, Somerville at 40, Trenton at 48, and parts of Sussex County are down to 37 degrees. Over in Haledon, it’s a chilly 39 degrees.

But don’t let those early temperatures fool you. We’re in for a really nice Friday!

According to the National Weather Service, Newark can expect sunny skies with a high near 72 degrees. West winds will range from 5 to 13 mph, with occasional gusts reaching 23 mph.

And if you’re thinking about stepping outside for lunch today, go right ahead! It should be a great afternoon to grab something to eat outdoors, take a walk, or simply enjoy some sunshine before the weekend.

Enjoy your Friday, New Jersey! We’ve made it to the end of another workweek, and Mother Nature is giving us a beautiful day to celebrate!
