Newark Police are investigating a collision involving an NJ Transit bus and a private vehicle that sent five people to the hospital Thursday morning.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., police responded to the area of 4th Street and Park Avenue at approximately 7:10 a.m. following reports of a crash involving the bus and another vehicle.
Officials said the NJ Transit bus driver and three passengers were transported to University Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the second vehicle was also taken to University Hospital for treatment.
The extent of the injuries was not immediately available.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
