We are waking up to much warmer temperatures across Newark and the North Jersey region, and this could be one of the last noticeably warm days of the year as temperatures make a run toward 80 degrees.

Good morning, Jersey, and happy Thursday! Welcome to October!
At 4:30 a.m., it is already a mild 69 degrees in downtown Newark, setting us up for what could be the pick of the week. Temperatures will climb into the upper 70s this afternoon, with some humidity making it feel even warmer.
Around New Jersey this morning, temperatures are generally comfortable for the start of October. Trenton is at 63 degrees, Somerville is at 59, Belmar is around 64, Toms River is at 69, Paterson is around 66, while parts of Sussex County are waking up near 58 degrees.
After some cloudy conditions early, today should provide a nice opportunity to get outside during lunchtime and enjoy the warmth while it lasts.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a chance of sprinkles before 11 a.m. Otherwise, skies will remain mostly cloudy, with a high near 77 degrees and southwest winds around 6 mph.
Tonight will be partly cloudy and mild, with temperatures falling only to around 66 degrees and southwest winds continuing around 6 mph.
Happy October, Jersey! Have a great Thursday!
