Good morning, Jersey, and happy Wednesday!
Welcome to the first day of fall, and Mother Nature certainly seems to know the season has changed. There’s a definite chill in the air this morning, with temperatures around 57 degrees in downtown Newark.
If you’re heading out early for work, school or waiting at the bus stop, grab a jacket. You’ll definitely notice the difference.
It almost feels like summer never really said goodbye; it just made a quick exit, at least for now.
The bigger weather story today will be the wind. Breezy conditions are expected throughout the day, making those cooler temperatures feel even more noticeable.
According to the National Weather Service, skies will be partly sunny with a high near 67 degrees. Northeast winds will range from 14 to 18 mph.
Tonight will be mostly clear and cool, with temperatures dropping to around 52 degrees and northeast winds continuing at 13 to 15 mph.
So, Jersey, break out that light jacket and enjoy the first taste of fall.
