A person was killed in a serious crash on McCarter Highway in Newark Saturday night.
Preliminary information indicated the crash occurred near Exit 5 on the northbound side of McCarter Highway shortly before 9:30 p.m.
Emergency responders arriving at the scene found that a man had reportedly been ejected from a vehicle and was trapped/pinned under the vehicle.
This was a single vehicle crash.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene around 9:37 pm officials told RLS Media.
At least two right lanes of the highway were closed while authorities conducted an investigation into the crash.
The circumstances leading up to the collision have not yet been confirmed, and the identity of the victim was not immediately available.
