Warmer, More Humid Wednesday Ahead Across Newark, North Jersey

We are waking up to partly cloudy skies across Newark and the North Jersey region on this midweek Wednesday morning, with a cool and refreshing feel outside.

Good morning, Jersey!

 

At around 4:30 a.m., it is 71 degrees in downtown Newark, and while the morning feels comfortable, temperatures will climb quickly today. We’ll make a run toward 90 degrees, falling just a few degrees shy as humidity also begins to increase.

 

Around the state, Sussex County is waking up at a chilly 57 degrees, Morristown at 58, Belmar at 66, Paterson at 69, Mahwah at 66 and Toms River at 72.

 

According to the National Weather Service, mostly sunny skies are expected today with a high near 87 degrees. Southwest winds will increase to 6 to 11 mph, with gusts potentially reaching 22 mph.

 

Tonight will remain partly cloudy with temperatures dropping to around 73. There is a 30% chance of showers, mainly toward daybreak Thursday, with wind gusts possibly reaching 26 mph.

 

So enjoy the refreshing start because a warmer and more humid afternoon is on the way.
