We are waking up cool on this Labor Day Monday, and this could very well be the best pick of the entire holiday weekend for Newark and the North Jersey region.

Good morning and Happy Labor Day, everyone!
It is currently 66 degrees in Newark, and there is definitely a fall-like feel in the air. If you’re heading out early this morning, you may want to grab a light jacket, but you should be able to shed it pretty quickly as the morning moves along and the sunshine takes over.
We have a gorgeous day on tap for what is traditionally considered the unofficial end of summer.
And what a summer it has been! We endured multiple stretches of temperatures climbing into the 90s, making it a tough one at times, but Mother Nature is allowing us to close out the season with some beautiful weather.
Temperatures are even cooler in other parts of the state this morning, with readings around 54 degrees in Sussex County, 55 in Morristown and about 55 in the Toms River area.
So, yes, it’s pretty chilly out there in some spots.
Today will easily be one of the nicest days of the holiday weekend.
Temperatures will struggle to get much beyond the upper 70s to around 80 degrees, with plenty of sunshine making for excellent conditions for cookouts, trips to the park, the Jersey Shore or just relaxing outside.
According to the National Weather Service, Labor Day will be sunny with a high near 81 degrees. Northwest winds will range from 5 to 8 mph.
Tonight will remain mostly clear and cool, with temperatures dropping to around 62 degrees in Newark.
Enjoy this beautiful Labor Day, New Jersey!
