Man Seriously Injured in Newark Ironbound Stabbing

Newark Police are investigating a stabbing that left a man seriously injured Sunday afternoon in the city’s Ironbound section.

According to preliminary information, police responded to the area of Ferry and Magazine streets shortly after 4 p.m., where officers found an adult male suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

 

University Hospital EMS crews, who were already in the area on standby for the Brazilian Festival, responded to the scene and provided emergency treatment.

 

The victim was transported to University Hospital and admitted as a Level One trauma patient.

 

The circumstances surrounding the stabbing remain under investigation. 

No arrests or suspect information were immediately available.
