Newark Fire Engine Involved in Crash While Responding to Call

Authorities are investigating a crash involving a Newark fire engine that occurred while firefighters were responding to an emergency call Thursday night.

According to preliminary information, Newark Fire Department Engine 6 was involved in a motor vehicle collision near Washington and Court streets shortly before 10:45 p.m.

 

No members of the fire department were reported injured in the crash.

 

A civilian driver involved in the collision reportedly complained of a shoulder injury. The extent of that injury was not immediately available.

 

Additional details regarding how the collision occurred have not been released.

 

The incident remains under investigation.
