Two people were taken into custody following a narcotics investigation in West New York that resulted in authorities recovering cocaine and other suspected drugs, according to information released by Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello.
Officials said members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics and Gangs Task Force, working with West New York Police, arrested Roner Arias Ramos, 27, and Juliany Ortiz Yeje, 24, on Thursday, September 3.
Authorities said the pair was arrested on 51st Street and investigators later conducted a court-authorized search of an apartment shared by the defendants.
During the search, investigators reportedly recovered various quantities of cocaine, promethazine and marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia.
Both defendants face multiple charges, including operating a narcotics facility, money laundering and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
Prosecutors said some of the alleged drug activity occurred within designated school and public-property zones.
Arias Ramos faces additional narcotics charges after authorities said he was found in possession of cocaine at the time of his arrest.
Both defendants were transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending their first court appearances.
