Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a series of incidents involving gunfire and a reported armed robbery in Paterson late Sunday night.

According to preliminary information, police responded to the 300 block of Union Avenue at approximately 10:31 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired.
Officers reportedly pursued two suspects riding dirt bikes following the gunfire. During the incident, at least one round struck the windshield of a vehicle. The pursuit was later terminated.
About 35 minutes later, at approximately 11:06 p.m., police were alerted to a reported robbery near 360 Union Avenue at Wayne Avenue.
A male victim told authorities that he was shot at approximately four times and robbed of his scooter. Initial reports did not immediately indicate whether the victim had been struck by the gunfire.
It was not immediately clear whether the reported robbery and the earlier shots-fired incident were connected.
The circumstances surrounding both incidents remain under investigation.
