Authorities in Union County are investigating an incident that left a person seriously injured after falling from a roof in Westfield Saturday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the Wychwood Road area shortly before 1:45 p.m., where firefighters and EMS found a person who had reportedly fallen from a roof.
Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, a NorthSTAR medical helicopter was requested.
The helicopter later landed at Echo Lake Park and transported the victim to University Hospital in Newark in serious condition.
The circumstances surrounding the fall have not been immediately released.
The incident remains under investigation.
