As Irvington students prepare to return to the classroom, district leaders are looking to build on a key ingredient for student success, a strong partnership between schools and families.
Irvington Public Schools Superintendent Dr. April Vauss is encouraging parents and guardians to continue working alongside the district during the 2026-27 school year, particularly in helping students arrive at school on time and ready to learn.
The effort is part of a broader commitment to keeping students, parents, extended families and the Irvington community connected to the educational process.
District officials hope that combining school resources with continued family involvement will provide students with the structure and support needed to succeed academically and socially.
Getting students through the doors on time will help ensure they are prepared from the opening bell for a full day of rigorous learning while building positive habits that can contribute to continued achievement throughout the district.
Irvington Public Schools will welcome students back on Wednesday, September 2, for a four-hour opening-day session.
As another school year begins, district leaders are hoping the message remains simple: when schools, families and the community work together, Irvington students have a stronger foundation for success.
