We’re waking up to a much cooler close to the week after drenching rain and severe storms ripped through the area Thursday, turning some streets into rivers across Newark and the North Jersey region.

Good morning, New Jersey, and happy Friday! We hope you’re waking up in great spirits.
The storms are moving out, and once the remaining showers clear, we’re looking at a much better day ahead.
It’s currently 65 degrees in downtown Newark, with some drizzle lingering across parts of North Jersey.
Temperatures are around 62 degrees in Vernon, 65 in West Orange, 65 in Roselle Park, 66 in Toms River, and 67 in Morristown.
Most of the heavier rain has moved out of our region, although a few spotty showers may hang around early. Nothing like what we experienced Thursday is expected today.
We’ll see a mix of sunshine and clouds as the day progresses, and one of the biggest improvements will be the lower humidity, making it feel much more comfortable outside.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will be mostly sunny with a high near 80 degrees. North winds will range from 9 to 13 mph.
Friday night will turn mostly cloudy, with a low around 66 degrees and northeast winds of 5 to 7 mph.
So after a rough round of storms, we have a much better Friday ahead of us.
Enjoy the cooler air, stay safe, and have a wonderful Friday, New Jersey!
