Authorities are no longer treating the death of a 41-year-old woman found inside a room at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City as an active criminal investigation.

Police were called to the casino hotel at approximately 4:47 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, after receiving a 911 report of an unresponsive woman inside a room.

Atlantic City Police and emergency medical personnel responded and found the woman deceased.

The New Jersey Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy Friday, August 14.

Based on the findings of that examination, officials said the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death are no longer being investigated as a criminal matter.

Authorities did not release the woman’s identity or provide additional details regarding the cause or manner of death.
