East Orange is preparing to celebrate a major advancement in local healthcare as CareWell Health Medical Center officially opens its new state-of-the-art medical laboratory with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today, Wednesday, August 12. This event is by invitation only and is limited to public officials and members of the media. Requests to attend may be submitted through the RSVP contact.
The new laboratory features one of the region’s most advanced automated testing systems, allowing CareWell Health to deliver faster, more accurate diagnostic results while expanding access to cutting-edge medical testing for the community.
According to CareWell Health, the laboratory offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic services that support preventive care and treatment for both men and women.
Testing includes blood chemistry, hormone and immune system analysis, blood cell counts, cardiovascular testing, toxicology, medication monitoring, and urinalysis, all processed through an automated laboratory system designed to improve efficiency and accuracy.
The medical center has also launched a new Molecular Diagnostics Department equipped with advanced DNA and RNA technology.
The department performs testing for gastrointestinal illnesses, women’s health conditions, tuberculosis, hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections, MRSA, Candida auris, immunity screening, and other communicable diseases, helping physicians diagnose and treat patients more quickly.
CareWell Health said the laboratory continues to meet rigorous quality standards through accreditation by The Joint Commission and the New Jersey Department of Health, ensuring patients receive reliable and accurate testing.
Hospital officials say the investment represents another step forward in strengthening healthcare services for East Orange and neighboring communities by bringing advanced diagnostic capabilities closer to home.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at CareWell Health Medical Center, 240 Central Avenue in East Orange, with lunch to be served.
Community members and invited guests are expected to attend the celebration marking the opening of the hospital’s newest healthcare resource.
