Two Bronx men are facing multiple charges after a lengthy investigation into an armed robbery at a Fort Lee gas station, according to information released by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Prosecutor Mark Musella said Juan A. Almonte, 26, and Julian Guzman, 22, were identified as suspects following a months-long joint investigation conducted by detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Fort Lee Police Department.
The investigation stems from a robbery that occurred around 4:05 a.m. on January 10, 2025, at a gas station along Route 4 in Fort Lee.
Authorities said a masked suspect approached a station employee, displayed a handgun, and demanded money and jewelry before assaulting the victim. The suspect then fled in a waiting vehicle.
Investigators later determined that additional masked individuals were inside the getaway car, which was identified as a gray Acura TLX Type S displaying a stolen temporary registration tag.
As the investigation progressed, detectives identified Almonte and Guzman as two of the individuals allegedly involved in the robbery.
Almonte was charged in October 2025 and was arrested later that month in the Bronx with assistance from the New York City Police Department.
He was extradited to New Jersey in November 2025 and has remained in the Bergen County Jail awaiting trial.
Guzman, who was already in custody in New York on an unrelated matter, was charged in November 2025. In July 2026, he was transferred to New Jersey and is also being held in the Bergen County Jail pending trial.
A Bergen County grand jury returned an indictment charging both men in connection with the armed robbery, and the case remains pending in Bergen County Superior Court.
