Emergency crews responded to a serious crash involving an entrapped occupant Sunday afternoon on Route 1&9 in Newark.
The collision occurred in the northbound lanes in the area of Roanoke Avenue, where firefighters and EMS crews worked to free one occupant trapped inside a vehicle.
The victim was successfully extricated by rescue personnel and transported by EMS to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The extent of the injuries has not been released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
