Emergency crews responded to a serious crash Saturday afternoon after a vehicle overturned at the intersection of Avon Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard in Newark.
The incident was reported shortly after 2:10 p.m. when emergency responders were dispatched for a rollover crash with a person trapped inside the vehicle.
Firefighters arrived and worked to extricate the occupant, who was successfully removed from the overturned vehicle and turned over to EMS personnel for medical treatment.
The extent of the driver’s injuries has not been released, and authorities have not disclosed what caused the vehicle to overturn.
The crash temporarily disrupted traffic in the area as first responders secured the scene and assisted the injured occupant.
