65-Year-Old Passaic Woman Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in Clifton

A 65-year-old Passaic woman died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night in Clifton, according to information released by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Clifton Police Department.

Authorities said officers were dispatched at approximately 9:20 p.m. on July 17 to the area of Bloomfield Avenue and Shafto Street following reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

 

When officers arrived, they found the woman suffering from serious injuries. She was transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased.
 

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, officials said.

 

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under active investigation.
