Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Blanca Salto Yung, who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred on July 13, 2026.
According to officials, officers responded at approximately 1:56 p.m. to reports of gunfire in front of a residence in the 100 block of Berkley Avenue.
Investigators said surveillance video captured a man wearing gray sweatpants and a black T-shirt arguing with someone standing in the doorway of the home.
A woman, identified as Blanca Salto Yung, was seen attempting to calm the man before he allegedly pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired toward the front door.
The suspect then fled the area in a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they recovered a .380-caliber shell casing from the sidewalk and discovered a bullet hole in the front door and another in the wall of the residence. No injuries were reported.
Authorities are now seeking Blanca Salto Yung for questioning as the investigation continues.
