Good morning, New Jersey! If you’re joining us at 4:30 a.m., we hope you had a restful night and enjoyed a beautiful Sunday. 
The weather couldn’t have been much better for the FIFA World Cup Final and for anyone who spent time outdoors.
We’re waking up to a much cooler and refreshing start to the workweek.
It’s currently 68 degrees in downtown Newark, and the lower humidity is making for a comfortable morning across much of the state.
Some of the coolest temperatures are being reported in northwest and central New Jersey.
Sussex is at 51 degrees, Morristown is 54, Somerset is 52, Belmar is 57, and Sussex County communities are also in the mid-50s. Air quality is good this morning, making it a great day to get outside.
Today’s weather will be nearly perfect, with plenty of sunshine and afternoon temperatures climbing into the lower to middle 80s.
While today will be pleasant, don’t get too comfortable—changes are on the way. A more unsettled weather pattern is expected to return Tuesday, bringing the chance for gusty thunderstorms across portions of the state.
According to the National Weather Service:
Today: Sunny, with a high near 84. Calm winds will become southerly around 6 mph during the afternoon.
Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 69. South winds between 3 and 8 mph.
