A chemical spill at a North Brunswick shopping center sent seven people to the hospital or required medical treatment Thursday morning, prompting a large emergency response.

According to North Brunswick Police, what appears to be a chlorine leak occurred at the North Brunswick Shopping Center.
Authorities are asking the public to avoid the shopping center, particularly the LA Fitness, while emergency crews continue to work at the scene.
Officials said seven people were injured during the incident.
Four of those victims were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The conditions of the injured have not been released.
No road closures have been reported, but cleanup operations remain underway as investigators work to determine what caused the apparent chemical leak.
