A months-long investigation into a series of armed robberies targeting businesses in Edgewater has resulted in the arrests and indictments of four New York residents accused of participating in the crimes.

According to information sent by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation led to the arrests of 24-year-old John E. Cesse Rosario of the Bronx, 26-year-old Fraylan M. De La Rosa Perez of Brooklyn, 23-year-old Brayan Perez Abreu of the Bronx, and 24-year-old Esther Rosado of the Bronx.
Authorities said the investigation was conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad in partnership with the Edgewater Police Department.
The investigation began after police responded to an armed robbery at a spa on River Road in Edgewater during the early morning hours of September 25, 2025. Investigators said a masked gunman robbed a customer at gunpoint while inside the business, stealing an Apple iPhone and Apple Watch before fleeing.
Detectives determined that multiple suspects were involved in the robbery and identified a white Toyota Camry believed to have been used during the crime.
As investigators gathered additional evidence, they linked the vehicle to Rosario.
Less than two weeks later, on October 5, 2025, police responded to a second armed robbery at another spa on River Road.
According to investigators, the robbery followed a similar pattern, with victims being held at gunpoint and robbed of cellular phones and other personal belongings.
Detectives later connected a silver Volkswagen Jetta used during that incident to Rosario as well.
The investigation continued over several months, leading to Rosario being charged in connection with the first robbery.
He was arrested in the Bronx on October 10, 2025, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force and the New York City Police Department.
As the investigation expanded, detectives identified De La Rosa Perez and Perez Abreu as additional suspects allegedly involved in the September robbery.
Both men were arrested in separate operations in New York with assistance from federal and New York City law enforcement agencies before being extradited to Bergen County.
Authorities said Rosario and De La Rosa Perez were later charged in connection with the second Edgewater robbery after investigators developed additional evidence.
Detectives also identified Rosado as an alleged participant accused of helping plan the October robbery.
According to prosecutors, initial efforts to locate Rosado were unsuccessful as the investigation continued.
The case remains under the direction of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Edgewater Police Department.
