A 17-year-old male was reportedly shot Monday night in Jersey City’s Bayview section, prompting a large emergency response.
According to preliminary information, police were called to the area of 154 Bayview Avenue at approximately 8:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Responding officers located a 17-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. His condition has not been officially released.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under active investigation.
No additional information, including whether a suspect has been identified or taken into custody, was immediately available.
