An Atlantic City man has admitted to drug and weapons offenses stemming from two separate incidents investigated by city police.

According to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Marcus Roberts, 52, pleaded guilty Thursday before Superior Court Judge Joseph Levin to possession of controlled dangerous substances, possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend that Roberts be sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison.
Authorities said the first incident occurred on May 15, 2025, when Atlantic City police responded to a fight in the 1300 block of Baltic Avenue.
Investigators determined Roberts was armed with a knife and used it to attack another man involved in the altercation.
After his arrest, officers searched Roberts and allegedly found him in possession of cocaine.
A second incident took place on October 29, 2025, when Atlantic City police conducting surveillance near the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue observed Roberts engaging in what appeared to be a hand-to-hand drug transaction. Officers stopped him and allegedly recovered fentanyl and cocaine.
Sentencing is expected at a later date, with the State seeking a five-year prison term under the plea agreement.
