Good morning and Happy Father's Day to all of the dads, grandfathers, and father figures across Newark and the North Jersey region.

We're off to a beautiful start this Sunday morning with comfortable temperatures and dry conditions across the area.

If you're headed out to First Sunday service or making your way to your house of worship, you may want to grab a light jacket before leaving home.

As of 4:30 a.m., it is 66 degrees in downtown Newark.

Temperatures will rebound quickly after sunrise, climbing into the mid to upper 80s this afternoon, making for a pleasant day to celebrate Father's Day outdoors with family and friends.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight 20 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m.

Otherwise, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 84 degrees. Light west winds will increase to 5 to 10 mph during the morning, with occasional gusts reaching 20 mph.

Tonight will remain comfortable with partly cloudy skies and a low around 65 degrees.

North winds around 6 mph will become calm during the evening hours.

Enjoy the day, celebrate the fathers in your life, and have a safe and blessed Sunday across New Jersey.
