Authorities in Monmouth County are investigating a serious motor vehicle crash that left multiple people injured after a vehicle overturned in Manalapan Township early Sunday morning.

According to reports, first responders were dispatched to the area of Daum Road after receiving reports of an overturned vehicle with injuries. Initial reports from the scene indicated that two people were injured in the crash.
As emergency crews arrived, responders confirmed that at least one occupant had been ejected from the vehicle while another was trapped underneath the wreckage.
Additional rescue equipment and mutual aid units were requested to assist with the extrication effort.
Emergency medical personnel reported that one victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment.
A second occupant was also taken to the hospital with injuries. As of approximately 4 a.m., authorities had not publicly confirmed the conditions of those involved or whether the crash resulted in any fatalities.

The circumstances leading up to the crash remain under investigation.
