Authorities are investigating after a woman was found stabbed in Newark’s Ironbound section Thursday morning.
According to preliminary information, police and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to East Kinney Street near Oliver Street School after reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, responders found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds on the sidewalk.
The woman is in stable condition.
No arrests have been announced, and authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that a woman was stabbed to death in Newark’s Ironbound section.
Newark Police officials have since clarified that the victim was transported to University Hospital in stable condition and has not been pronounced deceased.
