Authorities in Middlesex County are investigating a deadly stabbing that left a man dead and a woman critically injured in South River.
According to a statement released by Middlesex County Prosecutor Linda Estremera and South River Police Chief Mark Tinitigan, officers responded to a residence on Kamm Avenue at approximately 10:01 a.m. on June 18 after receiving a 911 call reporting a disturbance.
Upon arrival, police discovered an unresponsive man suffering from multiple stab wounds and a woman who was also injured.
The woman was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the incident remains under active investigation; however, authorities do not believe there is any threat to the public.
