Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an 11-year-old girl who was reported missing on Friday.
According to a statement released by the Newark Police Division, Taniya Coleman was last seen at approximately 5 p.m. on June 12 in the 300 block of Wainwright Street in Newark.
Authorities described Taniya as an African American female standing 5-foot-5 and weighing approximately 180 pounds. She has brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, jeans, and black Ugg boots.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen Taniya or who has information about her whereabouts to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS
