Firefighters remain on the scene Friday morning battling a massive four-alarm fire that tore through multiple structures in New Brunswick.

The blaze was reported shortly after 3 a.m. in the area of Easton Avenue.

Arriving crews encountered heavy fire conditions and quickly requested additional resources as flames spread to neighboring buildings.

According to radio reports, firefighters faced challenging conditions, including downed power lines, fire extending through the roof, and structural concerns as portions of at least one building became compromised.

Flames also spread to nearby exposure buildings on Morell Street and Ray Street, prompting crews to conduct both interior and exterior operations.

As the fire intensified, incident commanders struck additional alarms, eventually reaching a fourth alarm and bringing in mutual aid companies from surrounding communities.

Firefighters continued working to contain hotspots and protect adjacent properties as of Friday morning. No immediate reports of injuries were available.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
