Mass Shooting Leaves 7 Wounded, 2 Critical in Trenton

Seven people were injured in a shooting Tuesday night in Trenton, with two victims remaining in critical condition, according to authorities.


Police responded to the area of Center and Furman streets shortly after 10:30 p.m. on June 9 after the city's ShotSpotter gunfire detection system alerted officers to multiple rounds being fired.

 

When officers arrived, they found several individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Trenton EMS personnel, along with responding police officers, immediately rendered aid before the victims were transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment.

 

According to Trenton Police, a total of seven victims were treated at the hospital. 

Two of those victims remain in critical condition, while the remaining five are reported to be in stable condition.

 

The Mercer County Shooting Response Team responded to the scene and has taken the lead in the initial investigation. 

Authorities have not yet released information regarding a possible suspect or what may have led to the shooting.

 

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact law enforcement.
