Police in Passaic County are investigating an armed carjacking that left victims injured after being assaulted and robbed Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. in the area of Valley Road in Wayne.
According to preliminary information, three suspects approached the victims and allegedly assaulted them with a handgun before stealing personal belongings.
Authorities said the suspects then took off with the victims’ Ford F-150 pickup truck and fled the area.
Emergency responders were called to the scene, and an investigation was launched as officers worked to gather evidence and search for the stolen vehicle.
Police have not released descriptions beyond indicating that three suspects were involved. Information regarding the extent of the victims’ injuries was not immediately available.
