Hi there, RLS Metro Breaking News family, hope you are enjoying these summer-like temps and having some fun under the sun! It’s Najla here, and you can already smell the beach and salty shore from here with all these high temps; the beach won’t be far away.
In the meantime, hope you are getting that much-needed Vitamin D and enjoying life when you can. My community, Carteret, had just the thing to get you out and ready for the summer!
On Saturday, June 6, the ‘Summer Bash Fitness Festival’ hosted by RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center, took place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. with a whole list of activities to check out throughout the day, located at 60 Cooke Avenue, Carteret, NJ 07008, where all sorts of fun took place, from local vendors to group fitness activities and plenty for the kids!
The festival was such a big celebration, with their 15th anniversary falling this year, and since COVID-19 had prevented them from hosting such an event over the years, they truly went all out, pulling out all the stops!
“This is just what I needed to relax muscles,” a participant exclaimed as they enjoyed the aquatics center.
I had the pleasure of receiving a personal tour from the center's manager herself, Ms. Jessica Rivera. The center is so beautiful and offers so much that you never want to leave. 
All day, guests could take advantage of and explore their state-of-the-art facility to view their programs, participate in classes/demos, and access health screenings and wellness information. At the same time, kids could enjoy crafts/activities—all in one place. Plus, some yummy food to enjoy at the Ultimate Grill. To enjoy all of these free activities, you had to RSVP online, and some events required you to sign up with the instructors.
This event was open not only to members but also to the public, and you could even bring a friend. This one-day celebration made it that much easier to discover everything their center had to offer, and by the size of the crowd, the community definitely showed up today.
I even had the chance to participate in some of the activities, and it was such a blast to discover a fitness place like this so close to home. But I have to say, the massage session was my favorite. After weeks of sitting behind a desk writing/typing, that massage really helped me relax and enjoy it more! 
“Feels like the Lotus Casino from ‘Percy Jackson’, you lose all time here because it’s so fun, you do not want to leave,” I exclaimed to one of the guests!
The whole day was just filled with such ease. There were people chatting away endlessly, kids truly enjoying themselves, and adults taking a much-needed break from everything to enjoy such nice weather with their friends and family.
There were so many smiling faces everywhere, not a frown in sight. The staff and just everybody made you so comfortable; you could feel the warmth of the family they have there. It was such a sight to see.
My favorite parts, besides the massage, were definitely adopting a plushie, getting amazing free smoothie samples, and earning cool prizes for exercising. Even got to stop by some amazing vendors that sold gym wear, homemade candles, custom hats, and cupcakes! It was such a fun time!
If you enjoyed all that they offered, there was a chance to sign up and become a member right there on the spot, and let me tell you, so many people did! I don’t blame them. I mean, they have a pool/spa, a fitness area, and, if you need child care to watch your child while you’re doing your own thing, such heaven.
“This center is so great, it has so much to offer you!” a member stated.
So if you're interested in becoming a member today, don’t be shy, they aren’t going anywhere, but their member sale will end June 30th if you wanna act fast! Your whole summer could be filled with ease and sunshine, how it’s supposed to be!
Summer is coming fast, friends, but we are here and ready for it! It will definitely be one like no other, so remember to stop and enjoy! Just as soon as it comes, that’s how fast it goes.
