By: Richard L. Smith

Happy Tuesday, New Jersey! It’s Primary Election Day across the Garden State, so don’t forget to head to the polls. Voting locations are scheduled to open at 6 a.m.

Good morning! We are waking up to a comfortable 53 degrees in downtown Newark, and it’s shaping up to be a beautiful day across much of the region.

Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 70s this afternoon under a mix of sunshine and increasing clouds, making it a great day to get outside for lunch or enjoy some time outdoors.

North Jersey is starting the day on the cool side, but temperatures will rebound quickly as the morning progresses.

According to the National Weather Service, isolated showers are possible after 2 p.m. as clouds gradually increase.

The high temperature will reach near 79 degrees, with light and variable winds becoming north at 5 to 8 mph during the morning. The chance of precipitation remains low at 20 percent.

Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies with overnight lows around 57 degrees and light north winds between 3 and 6 mph.

Enjoy the pleasant weather, have a safe day, and make sure to cast your vote.

Make it a great day, New Jersey!
