Good morning, New Jersey!

We are waking up to pleasant conditions in Newark and across much of the North Jersey region on this first day of June and the start of a brand-new week.

It is currently 61 degrees in downtown Newark, and we’re looking at a nice stretch of weather ahead.

Each day this week will trend a little warmer, gradually bringing us closer to those summer-like temperatures many have been waiting for.

As we move through the day, expect mainly dry conditions with temperatures climbing into the mid-70s.

While it will be comfortable and feel great outdoors, we will struggle to get much beyond the mid-70s this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, scattered showers are possible after 2 p.m.

Otherwise, skies will become mostly sunny after a cloudy start to the morning. High temperatures will reach near 75 degrees with a northeast wind of 5 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Tonight, skies will become mostly clear with overnight lows around 53 degrees. Winds will be light out of the east before becoming calm after midnight.
